Atelier BL 119- Blain & Dixneuf

The BL119 studio is the partnership of two designers Grégory Blain and Hervé Dixneuf. Graduated from the ESADSE of Saint-Etienne, they work together on a common design approach. Their desire to work together is to build their projects through dialogue and exchange. They founded their studio in 2007. An important part of their approach is the research of form through drawing and experimentation. The duo works mainly in the fields of objects, furniture and lighting. These objects focus on an essential, a sober and pure line. Their work tends towards economy and simplicity.?Their approach is to explore and appropriate manufacturing processes as well as formal and technical elements. They orient their thinking in a pragmatic and sculptural dimension to create singular, useful and surprising objects. Winners of several awards, they were finalists for the Agora grant in 2007. In 2008, they won the Cinna, Révélateur de talents competition in the decorative object category for the La niche project. They were selected for the Design Parade festival at Villa Noailles in 2009. The “Lanterne” table lamp entered the collections of the MUDAC in Lausanne in 2018. In 2022, they won the FD100 prize.
